Shawl pins

ooh ah! lovely elegant shawl pins at Designs by Romi! especially this penannular swirl (page 4), which comes in nickel, copper and sterling silver:

and this bay laurel leaf (page 5, nickel or copper):

"The stick portion is attached to the pin and slides around to lock" so it can't fall out and you can't lose it -- so clever!

Romi (Rosemary Hill) has a blog but it has no rss feed ... and several patterns at knitty.com. I've ordered her book from Amazon (didn't know about using the link from Ravelry -- next time!)
