a Romi kind of day

the book fairy visited again yesterday, despite the 43-degree heat, and left Rosemary Hill's book -- full of jewelry and scarf projects using techniques that are quite new to me ... I need to source all kinds of interesting new tools and fibres :-) including Habu wool-stainless-steel yarn (!) -- but I'll probably start by making some flower petal earrings for Ruth ... 

Earlier in the day, before I knew the book had arrived, I followed up an email from Romi's Yahoo group, and bought two scarf pins: the one I drooled over before:
